Does NutriSystem offer counseling services? Yes and they are free and available online or via telephone.

Why should I use a NutriSystem counselor as part of my program? Statistics show that having support and accountability increases your enjoyment of the program and level of success. The counseling is not mandatory though.

How do I reach a NutriSystem dietitian? Just log onto NutriSystem and click the counseling tab. You can just live chat, email, or phone services.

How does the NutriSystem program compare to the Atkins and South Beach diets? Like the others, NutriSystem is low carb, high protein, but the foods are not all meats and are not high in fat and cholesterol. There are carb and snack type choices like pizza, pasta, chips, cakes, and muffins. NutriSystem still puts your body in ketosis, but without the pain of a mostly protein diet.

How does the NutriSystem program compare to Weight Watchers? In a nutshell, there are no points to tally. NutriSystem does all of the work for you, by providing the food which is already formulated to be "safe." And, you don't need to visit a center or program or join anything. NutriSystem does offer free counseling online, but you aren't forced to use it.

NutriSystem is a weight loss plan based on a favorable Glycemic Index. What that means is that you get the right balance of protein and carbs to put your body into fat burning mode. The NutriSystem prepackaged foods are low carb / low calorie and high protein, but the choices are anything but. Hot actress Danielle Fishel (best known for her starring role as Topanga on the television hit "Boy Meets World,") finally kicked a bunch of extra pounds on NutriSystem. She says that following her stint on "Boy," her weight kept her from getting additional jobs. She lost 30 pounds and says she is in the best shape of her life. It's hard to imagine Jillian Barberie ever looking anything but swim suit perfect, but there are actually photos of her wearing a tent dress and looking not so great.
